Prince Philip's outburst came as he was joined by Prince Edward and Prince William at a reception with Battle of Britain veterans on Friday.
Clearly frustrated while waiting for a photograph to be taken, he was caught on camera ordering the photographer to "just take the f-----g picture!"
The receptionmarked the 75th anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain.
Earlier in the day the Duke of Edinburgh joined other members of the Royal Family to watch an RAF fly past over the Mall and Buckingham Palace in which five Spitfires, two Hurricanes and four Typhoon aircraft took part.
