The card was also delivered to Neil with a personal message from the Prince.
The veteran told the Daily Mail he had no idea he was set to appear on the official card but when he saw it he was "delighted".
At the event where the picture was captured, Harry gave up his chance to fly in the largest display of wartime aircraft since the Battle of Britain so Neil and two wounded servicemen could still take part.
The Prince made the call after one of the four original aeroplanes was left "unserviceable". Neil wasn't aware of Harry's decision to pull out so he could take part until after the event.
"He came and welcomed me back," Neil said. "He was so keen to see me around and was so welcoming and even handed me back my [walking] stick I had left.
"Prince Harry and I are great friends. He's a lovely chap and he is so keen about everything. He went to Afghanistan and to Africa and he's so interested in wildlife. He shows such enthusiasm about spitfires and the Battle of Britain.
"It's a joy talking to him. If he reads this, which I'm sure he will, I'd like him to know I'm delighted to be on his Christmas card."
