Prince Harry mocks President Trump with ‘King’ joke in Stephen Colbert skit

Prince Harry has subtly roasted “King” Trump while making a cameo in a seasonal skit opposite Stephen Colbert.

The Duke of Sussex appeared on the December 3 episode of Colbert’s Late Show, pretending to audition for fictional Christmas movie The Gingerbread Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska in a humorous back and forth with the talk show host.

“You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you’re clearly obsessed with royalty,” he told Colbert, who vehemently denied the accusation, according to the Daily Mail.

Harry replied, “really? I heard you elected a King?”, inspiring a vocal response from the audience gathered at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theatre.

The comment has been interpreted as a veiled dig at President Donald Trump, who was the subject of October’s No Kings demonstrations.

According to Fox News, protestors lambasted his administration’s authoritarian approach and controversial policies.

Harry and wife Meghan Markle have themselves had a tense relationship with the US President since their self-imposed exile from the British royal family.

The couple infamously moved to California in 2020, attracting the attention of Trump.

In March, he told the New York Post “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible. I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose”.

Meghan was also referenced in the skit as Harry continued to beg for a role in the made-up seasonal flick, the Daily Mail reported.

“This is showbusiness, it’s about who you know. I mean, do you have a personal connection to any famous TV actresses?” Colbert asked.

“I might know one,” Harry slyly replied.

The former Suits star did not appear at the show recording, but reshared a video of her beau and Colbert lip-syncing to a clip from The Great British Bake Off.

Her own Christmas special With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, was released on Wednesday and features a passing appearance of the prince, according to the Independent.
