Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently enjoyed a secret holiday with George and Amal Clooney at their lavish Lake Como villa, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reports that Italian magazine Chi published details of the ultra-luxurious getaway, revealing that Harry and Meghan arrived in the picturesque town last Thursday on a private flight.
It's understood Clooney and his human rights barrister wife — who were among the guests at the royal wedding — invited the newlyweds to spend some time with them at their sprawling 18th century estate, Villa Oleandra. A huge operation was run by local police to ensure the couple remained secure during their three-day stay.
During their stay, Meghan helped look after the Clooneys' 10-month old twins, Ella and Alexander, while Harry and George played basketball, according to the magazine. The Clooney's are said to have hosted a gala dinner for them on Saturday with a guest list of just 15 close friends, before the couple flew back home on Sunday night.
It certainly would have been a comfortable stay for the royals — Villa Oleandra, bought by the actor in 2002 for $17 million, boasts 25 rooms, an outdoor theatre, tennis court, landscaped gardens and a swimming pool.
The mini-break couldn't have come at a better time for Meghan, who could surely use a little time out amid the ongoing drama surrounding her father, Thomas Markle Sr, and his constant criticism of the royal family to the press.
The Clooney's were among just 200 guests who were invited to the exclusive Frogmore House after party following Harry and Meghan's public nuptials and reception in May.
It's understood the couples met through celebrity stylist Miguel Perez, who works with both Meghan and Amal.
