Claws came out on Wednesday night when heiress Paris Hilton had a run in with former Playmate Shanna Moakler at Los Angeles nightclub Hyde Lounge, reported People magazine.
Both women have filed police reports against one another, accusing each other of battery.
However, details of the evening's events remain hazy,
with both women issuing conflicting statements through their publicists.
Moakler's publicist Susan Madore told People the pair exchanged words before Hilton's ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos pushed Moakler down some stairs, bent her wrist back and poured a drink over her head.
Hilton's rep Elliot Minz told a different side of the story, saying Moakler launched a verbal attack on Hilton before striking the blonde heiress on the side of her face.
According to one eyewitness, at least part of Moakler's story is true.
"Stavros had an empty cocktail glass in his hand and Shanna was standing there wet," the witness told People.
The witness did not say if they saw anyone physically assault another person.
Tension has been brewing between the two reality television stars since September, when Hilton was caught kissing Moakler's estranged husband, former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
Barker and Moakler starred in the recent MTV reality series Meet the Barkers and have two children together. They separated in August this year when Barker filed for divorce from Moakler.
