Miss Shields, manager of Wettie Spearfishing in Albany, first got into online shopping because of the convenience about three years ago when her workload increased.
"That was before I was really into clothes shopping," she told the Weekend Herald.
"Now I like all the fashion pages on Facebook so I can see what's out there and it's so easy to just go find it and buy it online."
The internet also lets her watch her favourite shows, such as Shortland Street and Geordie Shore, when it suits her.
Miss Shields has MySky so series links a lot of television programmes that aren't on at convenient time for her, such as Army Wives. She also streams a lot of overseas shows online.
Otherwise, TVNZ's new OnDemand app for iPads lets her catch up on Shortland Street on her tablet in bed.
"It's just convenient," she said.
