You can't win 'em all - even if you're Nicole Kidman.
The star wowed the crowds at Cannes for more than a week, turning out stunning look after look on the red carpet.
With four films in contention at Cannes and coming off the back of her standout performance onHBO miniseries Big Little Lies, Kidman is enjoying a career renessiance just weeks from her 50th birthday.
And while her Cannes red carpet outfits have been almost uniformally praised, one daring ensemble landed her on a few worst-dressed lists, reported news.com.au.
The severe up-do, the large pointy shoulder pads, the scruffy feathered skirt - chalk this one up as a very rare fashion fail for Nicole.

It's difficult to fault the rest of her Cannes looks, though - Kidman's turned out a succession of flawless outfits on the red carpet, at times complemented by the ultimate accessory in husband Keith Urban. Take a look:
