Serena Williams is well known for her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, but it seems that another royal has made an equally big impression.
The tennis ace has listed the Duchess of Cambridge as the number one "badass" woman she knows.
According to the Daily Mail, the mother-of-one put Kate above two singing legends in her list of the toughest A-listers in an interview with Instyle.
When asked to name who she thought of as "badass" Serena said: "Well, obviously Beyoncé. That goes unsaid. Rihanna goes unsaid. Kate Middleton!"
Serena, who gave birth to daughter Alexis Olympia in September, continued to praise the Duchess for heading out in public in full makeup after the birth of Prince Louis adding "she was … standing. So she's officially No 1."
The 36-year-old did, of course, give a mention to her other favourite royal, Meghan Markle whose wedding she attended last month.
Describing the day she said: "It was super fun. You know, I've known Meghan for years, so it was good to see my friend happy."
The tennis champion has previously praised the Duchess of Cambridge, describing her as "one heck of a woman" following Prince Louis' birth in April.
She told Popsugar she thought the royal had given birth "maybe two days before" after seeing the photographs of Kate looking immaculate with her new baby.
She said she was definitely "not in heels" following the birth of her own baby daughter, Alexis Olympia, in September.
Serena's links to the royals span back years as members of the royal family often attend her matches at Wimbledon with the Duchess of Cambridge a regular in the royal box.
