If you have cellulite, you're in good company. Up to 90 per cent of women and up to 10 per cent of men are also affected by our dimply friend. Cellulite forms in areas with low blood circulation, but many factors exacerbate the process, including toxins in the body, processed food consumption and hormones. Plus, as we age our skin loses elasticity and fat cells accumulate, eventually bulging through the collagen connective 'cords', which join skin and muscle, creating the orange-peel appearance.
Although near impossible to get rid of entirely, you can reduce the appearance of cellulite through a combination of exercise and a low-fat, high-fibre diet. It's important to increase blood circulation; try daily body body brushing (always in the direction of the heart) and pair with a good cellulite cream to help with skin texture. Applying a sunless tanning product will also help mask the appearance of cellulite temporarily.
