Royal Collection Enterprises, which sells official Royal mementoes, sold out of its range of chinaware commemorating Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's daughter's birth on May 2 last year.

Its annual accounts reveal that online sales of Royal souvenirs doubled and exceeded £1million for the first time.

The proportion of sales of memorabilia marking the Princess was not revealed.

But accounts for the Royal Collection Trust, which owns Royal Collection Enterprises, state that her birth was a factor in the "significant" increase.

She may be a month behind her big brother, but Princess Charlotte has started walking, as a first birthday picture taken by the Duchess of Cambridge shows. The Princess, who is one today, is pictured standing on her own two feet for the first time in the garden at Anmer Hall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Norfolk home.
