Natalie Portman has turned to Cate Blanchett for a little parenting advice after failing to find a balance between motherhood and her career.
The 34-year-old actress admits she has struggled to find the time to be a good mum to four-year-old son Aleph, and work on new film projects likePlanetarium and Jane Got a Gun, so she asked celebrity friends for help and advice.
"Very early on, I asked her (Blanchett) about being a parent," she tells Harper's Bazaar magazine.
"I said, 'How do you do it? You're a mom. You're the best at what you do'. She said, 'You just do. Stressing about it doesn't help'."
And she has discovered that parenting problems she faces as a working mum is shared by so many of her peers - male and female.
She adds, "Most men I know are dealing with the same issues. They say they feel like if they work too hard they won't have enough time with their families. Maybe those questions need to be asked of men, too. Maybe the men need better questions."
