On the big day every bride deserves to glow in style with the perfect dress. Photo / Thinkstock

What do stylemakers wear on their wedding day?

CYBELE WIREN (designer) & KELLY BEWLEY
Married in 2008

On my wedding day I wore ... a dress I made with the help of my amazing workroom team.

My partner, Kelly, wore ... a suit from Crane Brothers.

We were married at ... my mother and stepfather's place in Coromandel
- in a grove of walnut trees.

My photographer was ... Olivia Hemus.

I'll never forget ... just how awesome it was to have all of our family and friends together to celebrate with us.

RACHEL MORTON (stylist) & TODD BILTON
Married in 2011

On my wedding day I wore ... A white skirt and lace top that I had made, with Christian Dior black satin bow heels.

My partner, Todd, wore ... a Crane Brothers suit.

We were married at ... The Wintergarden at the Auckland Domain.

Our wedding dance was ... Love Me Do by The Beatles, played by my Dad's band.

Our photographer was ... Hannah Richards.

I'll never forget ... every moment, particularly Todd's speech. Him playing his guitar and singing Wild Horses towards the end of the evening was a special highlight.

DEBORAH SWEENEY (designer) & NIELS MEYER-WESTFELD
Married in 2004

On my wedding day I wore ... a red silk chiffon dress, with a vintage fur wrap, vintage 40s earrings, vintage handbag and Comme de Garcons charcoal slingback heels.

My partner, Niels, wore ... a Zambesi suit and Paul and Joe shirt.

We were married at ... the Picton Catholic church and had the reception in Marlborough.

Our wedding dance was ... we didn't have an official dance.

My photographer was ... our wedding was fairly casual and we didn't have an official photographer on the day - we had friends take pictures for us instead.

I'll never forget ... when Dad dropped the cake. I wasn't there at the time - but it was one of those classic wedding moments. Mum found him crouched on the drive with the cake between his knees. A patch-up job worked just fine and nobody ever knew about it.

EMMA CRUICKSHANK (PR agent) & DAN GOSLING (Stolen Girlfriends Club)
Married in 2010

On my wedding day I wore ... A three-piece wedding outfit, which I designed and made - a tight, short one-piece, a sheer skirt made of curtain netting and a lace one-shoulder long-sleeve top. I designed this so I could wear each piece separately on another occasion.

My partner, Dan, wore ... A custom made Stolen Girlfriends Club suit and Costume National shoes.

We were married at ... A tiny church on a hill at Musket Cove in Fiji and had the reception at the 4 Dollar Bar.

Our wedding dance was ... to Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf. But I am not sure if you would call it a dance.

My photographer was ... All our friends. We didn't want serious photos so we got all our friends to take them throughout the night. We had a competition going that the winner of the best photo received a voucher at Black Box. Steve King managed to sneak in a few professional photos though as he is our close friend and an awesome photographer.

I'll never forget ... My wedding cake, which was made by my 80-year-old grandma was a special memory. And so was having all our close friends and family from all over join us for a week of celebrations, not to mention their killer moves on the dance floor.

SHERIE RAI (Sherie Muijs designer) & JIWAN RAI
Married in 2008

On my wedding day I wore... a dress by John Zimmerman made my dress for me.

My partner wore... A Working Style black suit with waistcoat, crisp white shirt and a skinny black tie.

We were married at... St Mary's church, and the reception was held at Fables Gallery in Parnell.

Our wedding dance was... a waltz.

I'll never forget... My dad racing down to the local hardware store to buy Uhu glue to stick my broken fingernail back together.

HANNAH RICHARDS (photographer) & KELLY NG
Married in 2011

On my wedding day I wore ... A 1950s-inspired beaded corset and Thai silk skirt "made with love by mother", as the label says.

My partner wore ... Hugo Boss.

We were married at ... Mantells in Mt Eden.

Our wedding dance was ... Can't Keep my Eyes Off You by Al Green.

Our photographer was ... Nicola Topping.

I'll never forget ... Actually, the whole day was so fabulous I want to do it again.

CAMILLE HOWIE (designer) & NICHOLAS DELANEY
Married in 2008

On my wedding day I wore ... My own creation, an Origami Lily dress.

My partner, Nicholas, wore ... a suit by Pierre Cardin.

We were married at ... St Marks Anglican Church, Remuera.

Our wedding dance was ... Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.

I'll never forget ... the feeling of walking down the aisle and seeing my husband shed a tear.

Our photographer was ... Liz March. For our photo shoot we explored historic Pah house, and discovered the view from the round window up high in the tower. The house has now been renovated and converted into an art gallery. And although still beautiful, the tower is now closed, so I feel like those photos are extra special.

KIRSHA WHITCHER (Salasai designer) & JARED WHITCHER
Married in 1996

On my wedding day I wore ... an off-white dupion silk dress I designed and made with my friends when I was a fashion student.

My partner, Jared, wore ... an aubergine lightweight wool suiting three-piece suit, also designed and made by third-year fashion students, including myself.

We were married in ... Hawkes Bay Mormon Chapel with 300 of our friends and family.

Our wedding dance was ... Lets Stay Together by Al Green.

I'll never forget ... I had my grandmother (who has passed away now), her four sisters and three of my great aunts singing a 1950s song, Autumn Leaves, as a choir when I walked into the chapel to meet Jared - my absolute favourite moment at our wedding.
