One of the more recent additions to the area is the Project Twin Streams walkways. The Lower and Upper Opanuku tracks are great for walking and biking. They even have solar lights for night time. It's nice to see so many people out jogging or strolling with dogs or kids on bikes.
We just can't say enough about this part of Auckland and we love the fact that we've chosen the place we grew up in, to live in as adults.
It's the gateway to the wine country and the beautiful west coast beaches. There are so many fascinating people with interesting stories and creative ideas. And everything is so convenient. There is a mall and every tradesperson you could ever want located out here so you don't have to drive for miles to get things done.
Easy living and good, down-to-earth people in a suburb that holds an annual Elvis-in-the-park event. What more could you want?

Henderson Seafoods, Pioneer Plaza Shopping Centre (behind the Westfield Mall) Henderson, (09) 836 3648. You won't find fish that's been hanging around here. Everything is super fresh.
Alpine Patisserie, Unit D5/50 Keeling Rd, Henderson, (09) 836 4446. You have been warned. The Swiss are known for their cakes for a reason.
