A British mum plans to charge family members £30 (nearly $60) per head for Christmas Dinner.
Mother-of-four Gemma Andrews grew tired of being left out-of-pocket after putting on Christmas dinner for the whole family so she's decided to start charging them for it.
The British mum, 33, is dividing opinions online after her TV appearance where she defended charging £30 (nearly $60) per head for Christmasdinner.
She says the idea first came up when her grandparents-in-law offered to put money towards the expensive meal.
Andrews explained on TV show This Morning that, despite the expense, she'd rather continue to host it every year as she can control the menu according to her son's severe food allergies.
People took to social media to voice their opinion on the matter. While some understand Andrews' position and even think she's not charging enough, others called her move "pure greed".
The mum pointed out that the budget allows for a gift for everyone and the party goes all day long.
"Everyone gets a present. It's literally open house. People come at 10am and leave at 10pm," she said.
The mother, who lives with her four children and partner, even said her ex-husband and his family continue to join her family every year and are happy to pay the costs.
