Out of the Blue has had a promising start at the box office.
Robert Sarkies' film about the Aramoana massacre Out of the Blue had a promising start at the box office since its release a week ago.
The film is at number two, having made almost $182,800 from Thursday to Sunday.
That puts it in a similar league as River Queen, whichmade $171,510 in its opening weekend, but less than Sione's Wedding, which opened with a record $382,900.
The result is better than expected, say Out of the Blue's distributors, who point out it is screening in fewer theatres than the number one film, Gridiron Gang.
