Mona joins Dotcom on holiday

Kim Dotcom is enjoying a holiday with his brood in the chilly south - and he's even taken estranged wife Mona for the break.

The internet mogul has posted a number of snaps on social media of his young children enjoying the snow in Queenstown.

After a shock separation in May he has revealed his newly separated wife Mona has joined them on the family getaway.

Dotcom tweeted "Queenstown aka Princesstown ;-)" with a picture of Mona and one of their young sons on a gondola above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.

Dotcom had no comment when asked if he and his wife were reconciling.

Sources close to the family said it was too early to talk about the pair reuniting but the family were having a great time after a rough couple of months.

Parenting Place writer and researcher John Cowan said it was important for parents to "bury the hatchet" and co-operate on all aspects of parenting together even in separation.

"I think parents who co-operate respectfully with concern and continuing love for their kids display a maturity in their approach," he said.

Cowan said children fared worse when they were used as weapons of animosity.

Dotcom recently won a reprieve from the Immigration Service when his four nannies, who were issued with deportation orders, had their work visas extended for a year.

He is also enjoying the prospect of having a voice in Parliament after striking a deal with Hone Harawira's Mana Party to join with his fledgling protest Internet Party.
