We'll start with this one because it's got Sandra Bullock in it so it's bound to rent more copies than the other, more deserving videos that are out this week.
Bullock plays another version of her most familiar role: she begins the film looking
plain and undergoes a transformation. This time she starts as an FBI agent and ends up as a beauty contest finalist. Some makeover.
At school she was a tomboy who beat up the other kids.
By the time the movie opens she's pounding punchbags until she's assigned to impersonate a beauty contestant so she can head off a terrorist threat to the event (hey, I don't make these stories up).
Michael Caine, a disgraced "beauty consultant," supervises her makeover. Candice Bergen runs the contest and Benjamin Bratt is Bullock's partner at the FBI. No prizes for figuring out that Bergen is up to something and that after Bullock's makeover Bratt will realise, gosh, she cleans up real well.
Harmless fun.
