Miranda Kerr's make-up artist didn't talk to her when they first met because she was too busy chatting to fellow Victoria's Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova.

However the Australian model and cosmetics' star Rose-Marie Swift are firm friends now, but it took some time for them to grow close.

They first met when they were both travelling to a shoot for the luxury lingerie company and Kerr can vividly remember what happened.

"We met on a plane going to St Barts for a Victoria's Secret shoot," she told The Cut.

"I said, 'Hello,' but she just said, 'Hi,' and kept talking to Karolina Kurkova."

Kerr said she thought Rose-Marie was "cool" when they first met and instantly knew they would be friends. But for the make-up star things didn't work quite that way.

"I didn't think anything [when we first met], 'cause there were so many models there for a whole bunch of VS shoots and I was occupied with the models I already knew. She was someone new and I wasn't working with her on my shoot, so I wasn't really reacting," Swift said.

"Sorry, hon, I love you now," Swift was quick to add.

The pair have had their ups and downs in their friendship. Swift can vividly remember taking drastic action when she was annoyed with Kerr at one point, something she is now ashamed of.

"I remember I had called you once last minute and cancelled doing your make-up for an event because I was mad at you for something. I can't remember what, though, but you were hurt and I think you ended up doing your own make-up. I felt so bad afterwards," Swift laughed.

The pals have worked through their issues and are now so close they have a dog together called Frankie.
