If you've long feared that having a big mouth is the way to get ahead in life, there's bad news from the experts - you're right!
New research shows that men with larger mouths are seen as more dominant and make better leaders.
Politicians with big mouths aremore likely to be elected, and the businessmen who lead some of the world's largest companies are more likely to have wider mouths.
And when researchers electronically altered photographs of men to increase mouth sizes by ten per cent, it was the bigger mouths that were picked by test subjects as making better leaders.
Experts at the University of Toronto believe we have evolved to see wider mouths as a sign of dominance, and that mouth width predicts 'leadership perception and performance'.
