Singer Mel C says she is not leaving the Spice Girls and insists the band still have a future. The singer hit out at the British press and said she hoped fans would not have believed the story.
Mel C spoke out during the TV music show cd:uk yesterday, when she phoned in during an interview with fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton.
Host Cat Deeley asked Mel C whether she had left the band. She replied: "I love the British press.
"All the Spice Girls are forever asked this. At the moment we are concentrating on solo projects.
"No one has left the band. I have not left the Spice Girls. We are still together. I'm very sorry to let down the media, but hopefully it won't bother fans."
She added that there was a future for the band.
Rumours that girl power was no more surfaced following an interview Mel C gave in the United States in which she said she had grown up and wanted to go her own way.
