An old blog post from Meghan Markle's now-defunct website The Tig has resurfaced online, revealing the Duchess's childhood dreams of becoming a princess.

The entry, written by Meghan, 37, in 2014 during her time as Rachel Zane on law drama Suits, spoke about her dreams of being She-Ra, the Princess of Power, the Daily Mail reports.

It continued to describe how women still harbour fantasies of being a princess, citing the "circumstance and pomp" surrounding Kate Middleton — who she described as "Princess Kate" — as proof.

And just four years later, Meghan would herself be at the centre of a similar frenzy, marrying Prince Harry in May 2018 and becoming sister-in-law to Kate.

Writing on her blog, which was discontinued when her relationship with Harry became serious in April 2017 but has resurfaced, according to Glamour, Meghan revealed her dreams during an interview with humanitarian and Princess, Alia Al Senussi.

In the revealing 'Tig talk' entry, Meghan wrote: "Little girls dream of being princesses."

Describing She-Ra, a 1985 cartoon character famed for strength and feminist powers, she continued: "I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power."

Admitting that dreams of being a princess aren't just confined to children, Meghan added: "And grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy.

"Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."

The blog was part of an empowering entry on Princess Alia Al Senussi, whose family was exiled from Libya when Gaddhafi seized the throne in 1969.

Describing the interview with the princess as a "pinch-myself-I'm-emailing-with-a-princess moment", Meghan continued the blog with a six-question interview on the double-major graduate princess.

And this was just two years before the now Duke and Duchess of Sussex met in the summer of 2016 after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, thought to be fashion designer Misha Nonoo.

In November 2016 Harry confirmed their romance after he released a statement asking for his girlfriend's privacy to be respected, revealing she had been subject to a torrent of abuse amid rumours of their romance.

The blog post (seen above) was part of an empowering entry on Princess Alia Al Senussi, whose family was exiled from Libya when Gaddhafi seized the throne in 1969.

Just weeks later the Prince visited the American actress on set of Toronto-based legal drama Suits, before the couple were first sighted together in London during December 2016.

The duo then made a number of low key appearances together in 2017, before Harry proposed to the Suits star during a cosy night in over a roast dinner in 2017 after a 16-month whirlwind romance.

The couple announced their engagement in November 2017, spending Christmas together with the Queen at Sandringham.

They married on May 19 this year at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.
