McDonald's top secret Big Mac sauce leaked online

A Big Mac just wouldn't be the burger that millions around the world adore if it wasn't for the special sauce it comes with.

Only a few know how to make the condiment - but now, the top-secret recipe for the sauce appears to have leaked online, the Daily Mail reports.

The allegedly authentic ingredients list has circulated on Pinterest, but it has not been confirmed if it is truly the real deal.

The list that has leaked online is long and contains a whopping 33 ingredients.

They include soybean oil, a pickle relish, vinegar, egg yolks, onion powder and mustard seed.

Is this the ingredients list for the Big Mac Special Sauce?

Ingredients:
Soybean Oil, Pickle Relish (Diced Pickles, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Vinegar, Corn Syrup, Salt, Calcium Chloride, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Spice Extractives, Polysorbate 80), Distilled Vinegar, Water, Egg Yolks, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Onion Powder, Mustard Seed, Salt, Spices, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Mustard Bran, Sugar, Garlic Powder, Vegetable Protein (Hydrolyzed Corn, Soy and Wheat), Caramel Color, Extractives of Paprika, Soy Lecithin, Turmeric (Color), Calcium Disodium EDTA (Protect Flavor).

FEMAIL has asked McDonald's about the authenticity of the ingredients list, but it has not responded yet.

But there is a much easier way to replicate the Special Sauce at home without using all these ingredients, according to Mom Deals.

It has found a simpler recipe which it claims gives you the authentic taste of the Big Mac Special Sauce at home.

It contains far fewer ingredients - just seven - and only takes a few minutes to whip together.

All you need to do is mix the ingredients in a bowl and leave in the fridge overnight.

The Special Sauce was first created by franchise owner, Jim Delligatti, who invented the Big Mac in 1968.

He created the sauce to top off his delicious new burger.

The top-secret formula was tweaked over the years, but the original recipe remained until 1991.

However it was changed back to the original recipe in 2004.

Burger fans were able to buy the sauce to use at home for the first time in Australia last year, where it sold for $4.95.

But only 4,000 bottles were made so it sold out fast - and led to fast food lovers selling them on eBay and Gumtree for as much as $100.
