Burger or rock? That's the question posed by people trying McDonald's new Modern China Burger featuring a strange shade of grey.
Following on from recent coloured-bun ventures, the Modern China Burger comes with pork patties, bacon, salad and Sichuan-pepper sauce between two steamed, industrial-grey, speckled buns.
Available until November 3on McDonald's menu in China, customers have taken to social media to review the franchise's latest offering.
While some question whether the inspiration came from concrete or pollution, others posted pictures of their meal with the caption "Burger or rock?".
On Twitter, fast food fans tweeted their confusion as to why grey was the shade of choice. Grace Brown wrote: "Hard to guess what inspired McDonald's Modern China Burger. Concrete? Pollution?"
While Goatballoon tweeted: "Behold, "The Modern China Burger" what the hell kind of statement are they making with THAT??"
