When we leave a job, it's not uncommon to leave a souvenir behind, like a favourite pen or a prized chair.
But one former KFC worker has gone viral after finding out his voice is still immortalised in the drive-through greeting … 14 years after he finished up working there.
Melbourne man Ryan Evans posted a TikTok of him doing drive-through at his former workplace in Greensborough, recording his surprise at his voice still being used as the KFC's greeting.
"Welcome to KFC Greensborough, when you're ready to place an order," Ryan's recorded speaker message says, before real-life Ryan joins in.
Ryan, 37, said he decided to pay the store a visit after someone told him he was featured on the store's speaker.
"One of my friends went through the drive-through about six months ago and completely reminded me about the fact that my voice is still on the speaker box even though I haven't been there in about 14 years," he told news.com.au.
Ryan began working at Greensborough KFC when he was 15 and recorded the speaker message when he was 23 and the branch's store manager in 2007.
"We used to have headsets you could actually speak to the customers through the speaker box with, when I was working there the headsets actually broke down," he said.
"On a whim I was like let's just record something on to the speaker box to play automatically whenever you come through."

Ryan's recording, which he "nailed it first time" has lasted all these years since and would often come up "randomly" in conversation.
His TikTok video has since been viewed more than two million times, something that has taken him completely by surprise.
"I thought, this one might crack a thousand (views), I posted it and I played video games for an hour or two and looked up and it had already hit 20,000 within a couple of hours," he said.
"I can't believe it's over two million, it's absolutely ridiculous."
The video has also gotten hundreds of comments from people, some of whom said they instantly recognised which KFC it was.
"I've heard this bad boy way too many times," one person joked, while another local said they can "finally put a face to the sound".
Others joked that Ryan should be given some compensation for his voice featuring on the speaker for so long.
"Hit em up for royalties I reckon … paid in Wicked Wings," another commenter suggested.
