Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn (below) are reunited from their 1996 cocktail-cool buddy movie Swingers as two low-level gangsters who probably learned their trade by watching The Sopranos.
Bobby (Favreau) has a night job as a driver for his stripper girlfriend, Jess (Famke
Janssen). When he gets into a fight with one of her clients, his boss Max (Peter Falk) ships him off to New York. Bobby insists that his buddy Ricky (Vaughn) comes along because Ricky always comes along.
In the Big Apple they are put in contact with the crime boss Ruiz (Sean "P. Diddy" Combs) and believe they are now very wise guys indeed.
Which, of course, they are not and will never be. But the fun of this black comedy is in the telling, not in the outcome.
Recommended, especially if you giggled at Favreau in Very Bad Things on the telly recently.
