Kiwi designer's wares attract interest in Milan

Publisher of Design Folio Magazine Claire Sullivan is at the Salone del Mobile design fair in Milan. Check back throughout the week for her updates on the latest trends.

Every year the Satellite Salone showcases a carefully curated
exhibition of works from the world's up-and-coming design talent.

This year our very own Wellington-based designer Tim Wigmore was among those selected to exhibit. It's a big deal for any designer, with the main objective to secure manufacturing relationships with the big-name international manufacturers, and the all important press coverage that every designer needs in order to become known.

The financial commitment for these young designers can make the process crippling, particularly when you are sending items of furniture all the way from New Zealand.

So it was great to hear from Tim today that he's had an good amount of interest from both media and manufacturers.
