Kiwi comedian goes viral with hidden message in tweets

Comedian Nic Sampson spent a couple of months posting seemingly innocent tweets that have now just been revealed to contain a hidden message.

Yesterday, the Kiwi actor encouraged his followers to look back on his tweets and uncover the carefully crafted hidden message.

"Read the first word of each of my tweets on my timeline to uncover a fun hidden message," he posted.

Going back in time from that latest tweet, Twitter users read the first word of each of Sampson's tweets to discover the message.

The first words in the latest five tweets gave the general idea of the message: "Linda I want a divorce".

It then continued: "This has been a long time coming and we both know it's not working. We've grown apart."

Over 73 tweets, dating back to the end of August, the actor laid out the whole story.

"I barely even recognise who I've become when I'm around you. The silence is killing me. I'm taking the dog and the good couch. Now you can be with Mark from work like you always wanted. That's right, I know what happened on that skiing trip. You ruined my life. Goodbye."

Twitter users admired the craftiness of the gag.
