Neurotic New York journalist Jessica Stein (Jennifer Westfeldt) is fed up looking for Mr Right, who she has not found in a string of blind dates or a fling with her boss (Scott Cohen).
She scans the classifieds until she finds one that interests her
because it quotes the poet Rilke, one of her favourites (she's a neurotic New York journalist, okay?). No matter that the ad is in the Women Seeking Women column. She sets up a date with Helen (Heather Juergensen), an art gallery owner (this is New York, remember?).
They hit it off. So, as her brother's wedding nears, Jessica must decide whether to come out to her family and take Helen to meet them. And Josh is back on the scene, too. Tough choices in this modern love story with some great one-liners.
DVD features: movie (96min); documentary; commentary with director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld and director of photography Lawrence Sher; commentary with actors/writers Juergensen and Westfeldt; deleted scenes and outtakes with optional commentary; trailer.
