Kim Kardashian has unveiled her dramatic new platinum blonde locks after touching down in Paris on Thursday.

The 34-year-old was pictured leaving Le Royal Monceau hotel to go to the Balmain fashion show with her rapper husband Kanye West when she showcased her new shorter and layered do.

Wearing an origami-style black velvet mini dress under a black coat, all eyes were on the reality star as she ventured to the highly-anticipated high-fashion show.

Kim then posted an Instagram shot of her new look.

However, the cat was let out of the bag earlier on in the day when Kim flew in from Los Angeles to Paris, wearing a suspect oversized beanie on her head which completely covered her hair.

The lovely lady had inadvertently given a glimpse of her newly-dyed blonde locks after arriving in the French capital on Thursday morning - although she has kept her eyebrows dark.

The reality TV star was perhaps waiting for a much bigger reveal, but her lightened tresses were clearly visible beneath her cosy hat as she emerged from a taxi shortly after arriving after her long-haul flight.

Celebrity hairstylist Nicky Clarke told MailOnline: "Kim's new platinum blonde look would cost from anything from NZ$600 to $800 at one of my salons.

"It would probably take a long session of at least two hours just to get the original colour out and then another three hours to bleach the hair into the new colour.

"The look is a very high maintenance one and not without issue as her darker roots are going to show after one week because her natural colour is so very dark.

"It's a long and harsh process on the hair too. She may get the results she wants colour wise but it will damage the condition of the hair immensely.

"She will have to have a treatment every few days to maintain her glossy locks. Moreover, it would also have been a scalp bleach for the roots which is not great for the skin on her head and there is a possibility of reaction."

Jared Leto's shock new look

07 Mar 01:10 AM

Meanwhile, Kim met with her man outside their hotel, the first time they had seen each other in a week, so the rapper might be quite surprised to see her brand new and utterly dramatic hairstyle.

However, he'll no doubt be pleased at her changed look, as the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star previously admitted in an interview that he prefers her as a blonde.

"Kanye likes the blonde," she said at an event last year.

But at the time, the mum-of-one said that she was going to "stay dark" - although she has clearly now listened to his advice.

Before opting for the new look, Kim sported a rich dark brunette shade on her newly-chopped off locks, which she had cut off into a chic long bob a few weeks ago.

But it appears the dramatically shorter style wasn't enough of a change for the reality TV star.

Over the years, Kim has experimented with different tones on her hair, mostly sticking to her natural dark brown colour.

But when she was pregnant with the couple's daughter in 2013, she famously sported a lighter colour.

Kim arrived on Thursday morning in the French capital, ready to see her husband - who was already in the city - and also take in the Paris Fashion Week shows.

The two loved-up stars both went incognito as they made their way to meet each other at Charles De Gaulle airport, proving that they really are in sync with each other.

Kim had kept her large, cosy beanie on her head after wearing it for her flight from Los Angeles, while the rapper had stepped out in a parka coat with the fluffy hood pulled over his head and obscuring his face.

The strange choice of cover-up prompted much speculation over her locks, as she never usually shies away from showing off her glossy mane.

Kim made her way through the airport terminal in the same ensemble she had been wearing as she departed from the States the previous evening as she made her way to meet her man.

Never one to rest on her style laurels, she donned a chic pair of skintight black leather trousers under a large tailored coat with extra warmth added thanks to a furry stole around her shoulders.

The curvaceous star added some height to her petite frame with a pair of heeled mid-calf boots and, despite the long-haul flight, Kim looked as flawless as ever, fresh-faced and well made-up, her pretty eyes accentuate with thick black kohl liner.

The outing comes following Kim's admission that she waxed and then lasered her hairline. She told People magazine:

"I have the hairiest forehead you can ever imagine! If you Google [me in] 2008 or so, I had the craziest, hairiest hairline. I didn't change the shape, just got rid of all the baby hairs," she explained.
