Steven Spielberg wisely handed over the raptors to Jumanji director Joe Johnston when the third movie evolved, eight years after the last. Nothing wrong with the beasts: there are new ones like the powerful, enormous spinosaurus and the flying pteranodon, and computer-generated reptiles have
come a long way since 1994.
The story is prehistoric, though. Grumpy Dr Alan Grant (Sam Neill) has a new assistant, Billy (Alessandro Nivola), who introduces the palaentologist to businessman Paul Kirby (William H. Macy) and his wife, Amanda (Tea Leoni).
They say they're adventure travel junkies who want to fly over Isla Sorna for their anniversary. Of course the naughty folk land on the island to get up close and personal with the dinosaurs, and one of them gets himself lost ...
