For those who missed Pop Culture 102 (Pop Culture 101 was The Matrix recap above), Jackass is a show on MTV in which gung-ho host Johnny Knoxville and a band of misfits perform "fun" stunts like eating a snowball drenched in urine or trampolining into a
ceiling fan.
Jackass: The Movie is not a movie but a slightly longer than usual episode of the above with more extravagant stunts, swearing and nudity. Think Marc Ellis without Ellis' usual taste and self-control.
Antics range from strapping fireworks to skates and zooming down a hill or dangling from a rope over a crocodile pit wearing a jockstrap stuffed with raw chicken to a demolition derby on golf carts. Bam Margera tries to get his mother to swear on camera
by putting a live crocodile in her kitchen. Gross, puerile, and if I use any more words like that it will only encourage young men to go out and buy this DVD.
DVD features: movie (85min); commentary with director Jeff Tremaine, cinematographer Dimitry Elyashkevich, and star Johnny Knoxville; and with full cast and crew; MTV Making of ... ; additional footage; out-takes; image galleries; cast and crew biographies; two music videos; trailer; promo spots.
