The Littles (Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie) are nice folk who decide to adopt a younger brother for their 9-year-old son, George (Jonathan Lipnicki).
At the orphanage, however, they meet and fall in love with a computer-generated mouse (voiced by
Michael J. Fox).
Understandably, perhaps, George is not thrilled with his new sibling; neither is the family cat, Snowbell (Nathan Lane), who prefers to see Stuart as lunch.
Adult viewers know what's a-coming: there will be plot devices, Snowbell will find a kinder, gentler side, the bad kitties will get their beans and George will come to love his very little brother.
Kids will adore it. Adults will marvel at the film's gorgeous recreation of New York, a whizzbang toy boat race and amazing special effects.
See, being a parent or a grandparent has a lot going for it.
