Cliff Curtis comes home from making big-budget, star-powered movies like The Insider, Three Kings and Bringing Out The Dead, to help out Michael Hurst in his debut as a director.
And the two of them make a bloody good job
of this typically Kiwi tale of life, love and the local school's 75th jubilee.
Likeable, laidback Billy Williams (Curtis) has been landed with the job of organising the big weekend at Waimatua, the kumara capital of the world.
If he pulls it off he'll be a big man in the eyes of the town and more particularly his frustrated wife Pauline (Theresa Healey).
Billy, though, hasn't been counting on the town's biggest name, who was Pauline's old flame, coming back for the shindig.
Feelgood fun that'll take many Kiwis back to their roots.
