Kevin Bacon stars as Dr Sebastian Caine, a scientist who perfects an invisibility formula, tests it on animals, then injects it into himself. And what does he do with this fascinating ability (and some good special effects)? Well, the invisibility
jab makes Caine really, really mad, so when he sees his ex (Elisabeth Shue) with her new lover, he goes berserk. There are other people who upset him, too. Man, can he wig out. Which is pretty much all you expect from director Paul Verhoeven, who made RoboCop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct and Starship Troopers, in which many inhabitants of Melrose Place go into space and squish bugs. Roll all those together and you've got Hollow Man.
