The car-theft blockbuster isn't up to much and its soundtrack offers one more flaw - it's helping a revival for English hard-rock groaners the Cult who deliver the inevitable roll-credits anthem Painted On My Heart (credited to Diane Warren, the ballads-are-us songwriter who has propped up many an ageing longhair's career).

Otherwise, it leans heavily towards windscreen-rattling hip-hop (Method Man and Redman, Ice Cube, DMX); high-gear, rockish dance (Groove Armada, Chemical Brothers, BT, Apollo Four Forty); as well as twanging toe-tappers from Gomez and the ubiquitous Moby.

So aside from the fast-forwardable Cult contribution, it's not a bad car album for those who have eight bass bins where their boots should be.
