Victoria Beckham has come under fire over her 'It's a dark but happy place' slogan T-shirts — with fans suggesting it makes light of mental health issues.
The fashion designer's eponymous label is currently selling T-shirts and sweatshirts, priced at £95 (NZ$184) and £175 (NZ$337) respectively, featuring the slogan on its website.
However, Facebook users have criticised the slogan, with one suggesting it was a "p*** take of depression", the Daily Mail reports.
Victoria, 44, has previously shown off the tops on her Instagram page, linking the slogan to her love of sunglasses.
Unveiling her new T-shirts in February, she wrote: "You could say I'm slightly obsessed with sunglasses?! Wearing glasses all the time, I like to say I'm in a dark but happy place.
"My exclusive new VVB tee available at my website and 36 Dover St, London x VB."
After attending the royal wedding in May, Victoria shared a snap of herself in one of the slogan sweatshirts from the range, appearing to reference criticism that she didn't smile on arriving at Windsor Castle.
She captioned the picture: "When you're smiling on the inside... As the sweatshirt says!!
"Let your sweatshirt do the talking — get yours now exclusively at my website and #VBDoverSt x VB #DarkButHappyPlace".
However, fans have since criticised the slogan, suggesting that it isn't appropriate in light of current discussions about mental health.
Under a sponsored Facebook post advertising the range, one person commented: "[P]lease tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this slogan is a bad one!"
Another posted: "I'm a bit confused as to why this is on clothing, especially when there is a massive mental health campaign right now."
Meanwhile, one Facebook user commented "Sounds like a bit of a p*** take on depression", before adding "Terrible ad".
MailOnline has contacted a representative for Victoria Beckham for comment.
