'It was too delicious': Heartache for Chelsea Winter fan as dog eats cookbook

It appears Chelsea Winter's cookbooks are as flavoursome as her recipes after a fan was left devastated when her dog ripped up and swallowed her new cookbook.

Jess Vindriis was awaiting one of Kiwi celebrity chef Winter's cookbooks, to be delivered by courier, but when she returned home she was greeted with a big mess and a guilty-looking dog.

Vindriis posted an image on Winter's Facebook page with the caption: "I was super excited to get your book today! So much so I popped home from work to get it once I knew it was delivered. Turns out my dog doesn't care about my feelings."

The image has gone viral with more than 8600 people reacting to the post.

"Nooooo, a Chelsea book destroyed!! But look at that dogs face....zero f's given! Love it," one fan wrote.

"He looks SO happy with himself ... sorry, i shouldn't laugh but just imagine the fun he had. Chelsea loves dogs... i am sure she will be amused and send you another one," another said.

The post attracted the attention of chef Winter herself, responding to Vindriis' plight.

"OH NO!! Clearly it was too delicious. Where did you buy it from? Maybe they will replace it for you??" she wrote.

The woman's devastation soon turned to joy when Winter responded again, telling Vindriis a new cookbook would be sent out to her to enjoy.

"Amazing guys. Seriously I came back to get Jess' details so I could post her a new one and it's already done!" Winter said.

Vindriis has since received a new copy after having it sent to her work address.
