Gunn Narten from Norway dubbed the 'world's sexiest firefighter'. Source: Instagram / narten86

A female firefighter has built up an army of Instagram followers thanks to her good looks and fitness tips.

As well as saving lives Gunn Narten, 30, from Norway, works as a personal trainer and is so strong she can even lift a fire truck.

According to the href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4155202/Is-world-s-HOTTEST-firefighter.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail, the firefighter says that people are often taken aback by her profession but it was her ambition for years.

Gunn said: "I decided to become a firefighter when I was 19 - I have always loved being active and being part of a team.

"When I found out you could combine this with a physical job, challenging tasks and doing something good for others, the choice was easy.

Turnusfri og padletur i Oslofjorden var fint i dag🚣🏽‍♀️⛅️ Takk for turen @kissapi 😙 #kajakk #oslofjorden #dntoslo #sørenga #karitraa #getinspired_no #padletur

"I've never regretted it - I absolutely love my job.

"When I applied for the job in the fire department my mom said: 'I have never heard of a female firefighter before...why you?' And I answered: 'why not me?'

"Most people think it's cool and inspiring - it's not common to be a female firefighter so people get a little confused when I tell them what I do. Overall people are positive and curious."

"For me, being a firefighter is normal - my friends tell me I have 'boy humour' and I think I'm a little more 'handy' than most girls.

"But when I'm off work, I still love to dress up and be 'girly'."

Four years ago, super-fit Gunn also decided to become a personal trainer - and now when she's not saving lives, she's pumping iron in the gym.

She said: "I wanted to learn more about the body and how training affects it. It my profession, I need to be strong and have a high level of fitness.

"I want to make sure I can keep up with the boys! I have a really great relationship with my colleagues - we're more like a family. They treat me like any other firefighter.

"As a firefighter I work 24 or 48 hour shifts, so I have a lot of free time - I like to work and stay active.

"To do my job I need to be in the best shape - it's a lot of heavy equipment, and going into a house fire can be exhausting."

Gunn admitted some men find her job intimidating - but it doesn't hold her back.

"Maybe they think it's too 'manly' - but if they can't handle a girl with a chainsaw they need to toughen up!"

After sharing her snaps on Instagram, Gunn has built up an army of admiring followers amassing almost 115,000.

She said: "I started my Instagram account to inspire people to follow their dreams and to show that people can do anything they want to.

"I want to be a person who inspires my followers to work out, by being positive and spreading smiles, health and happiness.

"I have made some uncommon choices in my life and not everyone has been so supportive all the time - but I think one of the most important things in life is to figure out who you want to be and what you want to achieve in your life, and work towards those goals no matter what others might think or say.

"If you believe in yourself and work hard you will succeed. There will always be people who says you can't - prove them wrong!"
