Teen singing sensation Miley Ray Cyrus donned a jacket from Trelise Cooper's current winter collection when she appeared on hit show American Idol this week.
Cyrus, best known for her role as Hannah Montana in the Disney series of the same name, took to the stage during theIdol Gives Back charity programme and sang her song See You Again.
Earlier this week, the 15-year-old star was criticised in the media and by parents of her young fans after sexually provocative photographs of her surfaced.
She has since apologised and said she is embarrassed by the photos, some of which were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair magazine.
On the Idol Gives Back programme, Cyrus teamed Trelise Cooper's Twinkle Belle Waiter Minute jacket with a pair of jeans - a combination the designer said added "a touch of fun glamour" to the singer's outfit.
Cooper said Cyrus was recognised as a style icon in the United States and she was proud the young star had chosen one of her designs to wear.
"I was very excited to hear that Miley wore the Waiter Minute jacket on American Idol. She's a gorgeous girl and the jacket looked perfect on her," Cooper said.
The black jacket is tailored and features mirrored embellishments on the lapels.
Idol Gives Back, which screens in New Zealand on Saturday, attracted 17.6 million viewers in America and will be shown around the world.
Trelise Cooper's Waiter Minute jacket retails for $549.
