The grand final of NZ Idol is still weeks away, but Camillia Temple has been told by the judges that she will still be around for it.
The 28-year-old Hamiltonian shone on the stage in the ballads special screened on television last night and judge Fiona McDonald told her:
"I look forward to seeing you in the grand finals."
Temple also impressed guest judge Nathan King, from Zed, with her version of Prince's Purple Rain.
"You really got me going, sister," he said.
As for judge Frankie Stevens, Temple apparently got him right in the heart.
"I felt that," he said.
But not everyone was in tune last night.
Robin Johnson, who sang I'll Be There by the Jackson Five, was told by Stevens to work on his range: "I could see you were struggling with some of the notes."
Eddie Gaiger was told to look at specialising in Garth Brooks (country and western music) after failing to impress the judges with his rendition of Against All Odds by Phil Collins.
The ousted contestant will be revealed today.
