This isn't due until March 19, but we're counting. We're fans of the original Prevage, the lovechild of Elizabeth Arden and Botox-maker Allergan, and the eye treatment shows every sign of being as effective. Both have the powerful antioxidant idebenone, but this has added juice in the form of I-Seryl Complex, fancy-speak for a special blend of ingredients that includes peptides, algae extract and Haloxyl to help puffiness, dark circles and crow's feet.

2. Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment

Sharon Stone is the face of Dior's Capture Totale range. She's looking younger than ever these days. "I've always said that, if I had to, I'd hang upside down like a bat, but what I will never do is cut my face or change my physical appearance in this way," says Ms Stone. Must be a combination of this range and airbrushing that works for her, but I'm sold. This has all manner of complexes to help to reduce circles and smooth and firm skin.

3. Dermactin-TS Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

With more ingredients than a recipe from El Bulli's Ferran Adria, all you have to do is apply twice a day to get an improvement in the appearance of fine lines, crow's feet and dark circles. The original Dermactin-TS was made to help stretchmarks, but some brave soul found it fabulous on the face. If the story sounds familiar, it is. It is cult product StriVectin-SD's creation story.

4. Lancome Absolue Premium Bx Yeux Advanced Replenishing Eye Cream

There's a new Absolue Premium Bx range specially for 50 to 60-year-olds. Its motto: repair, nourishment and radiance. The line is patent-heavy starring Pro-Xylane to "redensify and restructure the fundamental matrix that irrigates skin's three compartments". It may sound heavy, but the "bio-assimilation" from brown algae, soya, barley and wild yam means the eye area looks smoother, denser, nourished and rested.

5. Chanel Precision Ultra Correction Eye Total Eye Revitalizer
$186 for the kit
This kit demands time and effort, so you must be committed. For anyone 45 and over, this 10-minute treatment can do wonders in 10 days. The roll-on serum is followed by a massage technique that should be strictly adhered to, and is followed by the eye patches which need to stay on for 10 minutes. It sounds a palaver but for revitalised, tight skin, diminished dark circles, less puffiness and crow's feet, it's nothing.
