Remember Robert Culp and Bill Cosby in TV's 60s camp classic? If you do, you're too old to be in the target demographic for this dimwitted remake, with Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy as odd couple undercover agents.
Alex Scott (Wilson), one of the US
government's top spies, has lived in the shadow of the Bond-esque Carlos (Gary Cole) until he is given his most dangerous mission: to retrieve the Switchblade, America's most technologically sophisticated reconnaissance aircraft which has fallen into the hands of terrorist and arms dealer Arnold Gundars (Malcolm McDowell).
US satellites cannot find the plane because state-of-the-art gizmos make it invisible, though it's known to be somewhere in central Europe. There are lots of motorbike chases. And not enough laughs.
DVD features: movie (97min); commentary by director Betty Thomas, editor Peter Teschner, producer Jenno Topping, writers David Ronn and Jay Scherick; Cloak and Camouflage, Gadgets and Gizmos, Schematics and Blueprints, The Slugfest features.
