Many of these are little gems that add up to an extraordinary insight into the way Maori operate in the world (or worlds) in which they find themselves.

Sometimes these are overt explorations such as Te Awhinas Arahanga's wonderfully rich Mushrooms, perhaps evoking history as in Kellyana Morey's Cartography; but sometimes the explorations are more seemingly incidental, although the Maori flavour no less distinctive, as in Darryn Joseph's Bargains.

This collection is a tribute to the diversity of Maori experience and the Maori voice.
