Today the All Blacks revealed the new jersey they will wear for the upcoming test series against the British and Irish Lions.
The main difference to previous shirts is a new crest featuring the years 1904 and 2017, a nod to the first-ever Lions tour to New Zealand.
We roundedup some of our top Kiwi designers and fashion experts to give their thoughts on the new jersey design.

I am glad it's still black. I like the shield reference, a nod to tradition on such a contemporary garment. It's also good to see the adidas logo and their ongoing commitment to NZ Rugby remaining strong.

I think it is great to have a dedicated design that celebrates the long tradition.
I always get caught up in "special edition" things because, if done well, they can tell a story and that is what makes them more collectable or prized.
There is a nice amount of "stealth" functionality and technical features which I can appreciate.
The proportions of the imagery are a bit clunky. With branding, sometimes less is more and I don't think that balance is there.
The shoulder line and collar remind me of something out of Game of Thrones. There is kind of a subtle medieval cloak vibe going on.
A Game of Thrones x All Blacks collaboration makes sense to me for the Lions tour. Two things that plenty of Kiwis are into too.

I love that the silver fern is larger, and the sentiment of using the crest from the 1904 tour is special - they will be wearing something that has been a part of the pride of being in the team and celebrated for over 100 years.
