Everyone knows there's a lot to think about when buying a house.
But chances are you and your spouse are actually thinking about entirely different things.
A survey of 2,000 people has found that while women will probably be counting the bedrooms and viewing the garden, men are more likelyto be checking where the nearest train station - or pub - is.
The research, by Santander Mortgages in the UK, revealed that women are most likely to value space, while men prefer to focus on a property's location. Access to a garden was also a higher priority for women than men, with more than twice as many saying it was essential.
Meanwhile, one in three men wanted a home which was within a convenient commute to work or close to public transport, compared to only a quarter of women.
However, there was one aspect on which both sexes could agree - good quality broadband, with both men and women listing it as a key feature of any property.
