A family pit bull has been hailed a hero after waking up its owner and grabbing her baby girl by her nappy as their home was engulfed in flames.
Latana Chai's dog Sasha began to act strangely - throwing herself against the back door and furiously barking in a desperatebid to alert her owner.
"As soon as I opened the door she runs in, starts barking, and I'm like, 'What the heck is wrong with you?" Chai, from California, told KCRA.
Sasha then sprinted inside to try to save Chai's baby.
"I looked up and there's black smoke coming from my neighbour's house. You can see the flames coming out," Chai said.

Chai ran inside to find her dog Sasha trying to drag her 7-month baby out of the house by her nappy.
"I ran into the room and I see Sasha, she has my baby by the diaper, just dragging her off the bed, trying to get her to safety," she said.
