Golden Globe Awards 2012: Best and worst dressed (+photos)

The Golden Globe Awards are as much about the dresses, faces and jewels as they are about who takes home the prizes.

This year, the red carpet was dominated by fishtail frocks (Reese Witherspoon, Evan Rachel Wood, Elle Macpherson, Sofia Vergara) metallics (Lea Michele, Nicole Richie, Madonna) and plunging necklines (Kristen Wiig, Charlize Theron, Emma Stone).

Faces were fresh - lots of rosy cheeks and dewy skin (Michelle Williams, Heidi Klum, Kate Beckinsale). Though a few stars opted for a bold red lip to make their outfit pop (Claire Danes, Angelina Jolie, Dianna Argon). Hair was loose, wavy and often side swept (Sofia Vergara, Emma Stone, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel).

It was a tough task picking favourites, so a few honourable mentions must go to the wonderfully dressed, Dianna Argon, Kate Winslet, Jessica Alba, Katharine McPhee and Elle Macpherson.
