Frozen cake the stuff of nightmares

A family received a startling surprise when they ordered a cake in the likeness of Queen Elsa, the star of Disney's phenomenally successful animated movie Frozen.

What turned up was so terrifying that it ended up on image sharing network, Imgur, alongside the original picture of what they had requested.

"The cake that was ordered and the cake that arrived," read the caption.

Queen Elsa underwent an unflattering makeover at the hands of the anonymous cake decorator - her porcelain skin spray tanned while her lips appear to have played a round or two of the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge.

Elsa's eyes are drifting towards her temples while her once-pristine white hair has turned a mangy shade of yellow.

Commenters on the photo were typically harsh in their assessments.

Thankfully, the recipient of the cake reportedly "loved it", proving that beauty is more than icing-deep.
