Newly opened, Mondays is a wholefoods cafe and juice bar from well-known food bloggers Eleanor Ozich of Petite Kitchen and Hannah Horton of Health, Yeah! You'll find cabinets full of salads, sugar-free sweet treats and bottled fresh juices as well as smoothies and coffee.

Jam

Located on the ground floor of a corporate building on busy Hurstmere Rd, Jam is a lovely, sweet retreat. You'll find a wide array of quality organic fare here, from the menu choices to the well-stocked food cabinet, with breezy service. The coffee is Velvet, a fair-trade organic brand roasted on the North Shore.

Kokako

Housed in the former Grey Lynn Post Office, Kokako is a largely sustainable and certified organic cafe. The menu is strictly vegetarian but the dishes pack a flavour punch and are more interesting than your standard brunch dishes. Don't miss the coffee, which is so good it's supplied to a range of other cafes across Auckland.

Hinemoa Street

Sustainability is at the heart of the Hinemoa Street ethos. The menu here is nutritious, organic and fair trade and instantly appealing - the range is wide and the emphasis is on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It's a popular spot, so go early.
