Hours on the road requires an uplifting selection of tunes. We make a mix of our trending favourites, songs to sing-along to, roadtripping anthems and classic crowd-pleasers. Make sure all passengers have a fully charged iPod, you don't want to sit in silence. Clickhere to see our top 20 roadtripping tunes.
2: Snacks to share
You've got to bring snacks you're prepared to share with the rest of your roadtripping mates - it would be rude not to. We always pull over at any roadside fruit van and pick up a bargain punnet of strawberries. Sweet, succulent and so summery.
You can't hit the road without making sure you have your favourite pair of sunglasses with you. We dig a classic frame like the Ray Bay wayfarer ($315), but any set with some proven eye protection will do the trick. If you forget to pack your sunnies, this will be the item you will miss the most.
4: Camera
You will want to reminisce on all those fond roadtripping memories, so get snap-happy. We love the Instax mini 90 classic camera with its cool retro design and instant polaroid satisfaction ($249.99). Or, for the tech-savvy early adopters, check out the app dubbed as the new Instagram - Tunepics. You post a picture and a song together to show-off to all your mates.
5: H2O
This is a no-brainer. Fill up your water bottle and stay hydrated. Even if it means more toilet stops.
